PICaxe Projects by Max Horsey ============================= EPE Magazine November 2002 - January 2003 Part One - Egg Timer, Dice Machine, Quiz Game monitor Part Two - Temperature Sensors, Voltage Sensor, VU Indicator Part Three - Chaser Lights Using the PICaxe system, you do not need specialist equipment or knowledge to program the PIC microcontrollers used in these designs. The flexibility of PIC microcontrollers is considerable and this series of articles is based around a variant of one of them, using a general purpose circuit and PCB allowing nine different projects to be realised. PICaxe is a great way to introduce yourself to the world of PIC microcontrollers. We use modified PIC16F627 devices that can be programmed in BASIC. They do not need special programming hardware and they can be programmed through a PC serial link. Please see the magazine for details of mail-order sources of PICaxe microcontrollers should you do not wish to program your own. COPYRIGHT NOTICE - PLEASE TAKE NOTE If readers wish to view the assembler files (.asm) related to these projects then readers should purchase the Programming Editor programmer/software manufactured by Revolution Education Ltd. Although their Programming Editor software is available for free download, the BASIC to Assembler function of the software is only available to those who have purchased the accompanying Serial PIC programmer from Revolution Education Ltd.
